Tuesday 31st March

Tuesday 31st March

Good morning Year 6.

I hope you had good Monday. It was really wet and windy when I went out for my walk yesterday, quite a contrast from last week’s lovely sunshine! It certainly blew the cobwebs away! I hope you enjoyed learning about Brooklands racetrack yesterday. It’s surprising that we have something so historically significant right on our doorsteps! If you log in to Digimaps you can clearly see the outline of the track from the sky! (Digimaps log in is on your big learning sheet in the geography section).

Here are today’s tasks:

Maths

Continue to choose from the various tasks in your learning pack. If you have finished these tasks, here are some extra things for you to do if you need something new.  I will post something every day just in case.

  • If you have an orange textbook, please complete page 34 – an investigation into triangular numbers
  • If you have a booklet of coloured maths sheets, please focus on page which investigating addition and subtraction.
  • If you have a blue textbook, please complete page 80 an investigation into number properties and multiples

English

Today I would like you to focus on making sure that you have completed at least one of the reading comprehension papers in full. If you have finished the Twnkl papers, you can mark them yourself using the mark scheme in your home learning pack. Your parents have information on how to access the mark schemes for the SATs papers so you can have a go at marking one of those together if you like. It can be  quite tricky, epecially marking the 3 markers!

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday.

Click on the link to read Matthew’s Gospel.

Palm Sunday

This link provides information on this special Sunday at the start of Holy Week. Ask a grown up to watch this with you.

Then, create an information page all about Palm Sunday. Remember to include

  • An account of what happened
  • The symbols and rituals associated with this special day.

You can use a computer to complete this work if you like, but only if it's not needed by anyone else!

Finally, if you want to try something crafty, create some palm leaves of your own, just using scissors, tape and some newspaper!

The sun is shining, I hope you have a good day!
