Tuesday 2nd February
Good morning everyone. Here are your little learning activities for today.
Literacy
Click on the picture or tab to the right to read this version of the Cinderella story with an adult.
Today we are going to be thinking about the characters in the story and what they said. Take a look at this picture from the story – can you remember what the Fairy Godmother said to Cinderella?
Draw a picture of the Fairy Godmother– can you write a speech bubble too? Scroll down to print one or ask an adult to draw one on your page. Use your sound mat to help you sound out the words. Remember finger spaces, full stops and capital letters.
NB. Parents: A decodable sentence could be “You shall go to the ball”
Optional extra activity If your child is confident and completes this quickly, they could write speech bubbles for other characters in the story too.
Phonics
Can you remember what a digraph is? Today we are going to learn about a sound that has 3 letters, it's called a trigraph. Click on the link to find out more...
Because this is a tricky sound, we are going to be detectives to help us with our learning. Scroll down to open and print this 'Igh Phoneme spotter story'
Ask an adult to read it to you. Can you use a pencil / highlighter pen to find all the igh words - circle or highlight them. If you haven't got a printer you can point with your finger or write some of them down.
