Tuesday 19th Jan
Good morning Year 6,
Welcome to Tuesday. I hope your week has started well. I’m currently looking at some of your work from last week and I’ve already seen some fabulous writing, beautiful artwork and carefully completed maths work – well done everyone!
Here is your work for today-
Early Work - Mental maths test from work pack.
Maths- L.O. 'I can multiply decimals by 10, 100 and 1000.' I will work through a powerpoint with you and you will then work independently on the maths worksheet. You can watch the video if you would like to. This maths tool might help if you get stuck place value chart
If you finish this, then, please work from maths textbook page 54. Please choose your level of learning. If you complete one column correctly, you can try some from the next column. The end of column C is quite challenging! If you are confident in multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, 1000, do all questions in the column, if not, focus on the multiplication questions only today.
English - L.O. ‘I can categorise texts according to their features’ and ‘I can identify the features of an argument’. We will complete two reading comprehension activities – ‘Rainbows’ and ‘Driverless Cars’ If you finish this, please make sure that all three geography tasks are finished from yesterday.
Art – You will need your pencils and sketch books.
If you want to watch the instruction video click here
Following last week’s lesson, we will be developing pencil and sketching skills and exploring what can be done with the different pencils in the set. There is also an art challenge booklet if you want some more arty activities to complete today. You could also have another look at the Turner resources from last week if you did not get a chance to do them.
There is a great interactive game here if you have a laptop.

Here is a link so that you can create your own sunset box.
Have a great day!
