Table of Unity...The Big Build
I am thrilled to report that after a very long delay waiting for our Table of Unity, (our reward for winning the 2015 Runnymede Pupil Parliament Debate on a suitable way to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the sealing of The Magna Carta) we are now in a position to begin the next stage of this project.
We have been able to secure a fantastic new community partnership with Runnymede Homes and Curchods Estate Agents (Ottershaw) to finally bring this idea to reality. We are very grateful to both companies for agreeing to support us on this project to supply and build a beautiful shelter in which to house our Table of Unity.
The wooden shelter, which will be installed in The Millennium Garden, is being sourced by Curchods and will be installed by Runnymede Homes (with the help of some willing volunteer staff, parents and children). We are calling this event our 'Big Build' and we hope to carry out the project in early 2017. When installed, The Table of Unity will then be given its pride of place and the children can begin to use this to inspire their creative thinking, strengthen friendships and serve as a hub for their growing interest and knowledge in how the world of business operates.
Further information about The Big Build will appear here when available...
Big Build Update...workmen from Runnymede Homes will be on site during the February half term to prepare the ground and lay the foundations for the Table of Unity shelter. The shelter will be delivered to school then put together with Mr Gorman leading the project. Meanwhile, we are still working on finding an appropriate circular table to sit within the shelter. More news soon...
Latest update...we have now set a date of Saturday March 11th to build the shelter. We have also taken delivery of the mosaic centre piece for The Table of Unity.
