Summer Term Week 5

Good morning to you all- it is the last week of this half term, I'm pleased to tell you that next week is half term, so we get a week to chill and relax!

I was supposed to be going to Spain for Megan's Hen Party but we have postponed that until next May. My plans for half term include spending time in the garden planting flowers for the summer and also finding new places to walk Arthur. We are very lucky to have so many great places to be able to visit in Addlestone- lots of walks and cycles along the canal, fun in the woods or visits to the parks.

This week our topic work is going to start us thinking about mountains- I would like you to find out about how they are formed and the features of different types of mountains. Our new topic map looks like this- it is attached in the resources at the bottom of the page.

For English we will be writing a suspense story! Year 5 you are great story writers so I can't wait to read your stories. I am also going to set you a small reading challenge each day and we will carry on with The Firework Maker's Daughter by reading Chapter 4.

Use your time in the morning to complete Maths and English tasks, like we would at school, then use the afternoons to be more creative. I have added some new RE tasks for you to complete- choose a task that you think you would like to do. Complete one RE task each week.
