Safeguarding

“A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person.

And a good Catholic school, over and above this, should help all its students to become saints….” Pope Benedict XVI, 2010

Holy Family School takes the safeguarding of all pupils and staff as a priority. Teaching children how to stay safe forms an integral part of the curriculum.

The designated safeguarding lead (DSL) is Mr Tindall & the Deputy DSL's are Mrs O'Neil & Miss Hodson. There are two governors with responsibility for safeguarding : Lisa Taylor and Linda Lake.

Below are some examples of the work we do with children in school to help keep them safe, both in their everyday lives and when online.

In December 2019, we hosted a workshop for parents, led by ex-police officer Sharon Girling. Sharon was hugely influential in establishing and running the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (CEOP) website for many years so was able to offer a wealth of invaluable advice and guidance to parents to help keep the children safe online.

Following the success of this workshop, Sharon returned in January 2020 to run a full day of workshops with children, staff and parents.
