Today is your BIG WRITE day. Please can you email me a copy of your writing when you have finished. You are all really good at sending me your work- I am super proud of you. My class email address is year5@holy-family.surrey.sch.uk please make sure you send me your writing- there is a few of you that forgot last week.

We are going to write a biography about the author Phillip Pullman. You did some great plans yesterday.

The success criteria for your writing is:

  • Write in the 3rd person (he/she, they, their)
  • Use the past tense
  • Include facts and dates
  • Write about key events in the person’s life
  • Write in chronological order
  • Include quotes
  • Include some feelings – if taken from quotes or obvious from person’s actions

I have included a word bank at the bottom of the page that will help you to use the right vocabulary when you are writing.

Don't forget to ask somebody to test you on your spellings- I'm really pleased to see we are still at the top of the league on Spelling Shed. The top 10 children in the school include 6 children from Year 5.

For your maths today we will be revising comparing fractions less than one- click here to watch the video
