Hello Year 3,

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend? We've been busy building Emilia's new bed and sorting her bedroom. She's thrilled with it, but we're exhausted!

I think I've successfully uploaded all the readings of the first chapter of The Iron Man now. See the main Summer Term Home Learning page for them. I've also added some info about the BBC Bitesize there.

Can you do the same for this week?  Write or paint a special message for your friends at school and ask somebody to take a picture of you with your message. Email your picture to me  and next week I will make a special page on the website with all your messages on. Have fun!

Thank you for all your Big Writes and other learning you have been emailing. I'm so thrilled. If you've not emailed your Big Write poem yet, it's not too late; I'll be looking at them properly today and writing the feedback form. I'll also be working on my new video for you, which will be ready by tomorrow at the latest, but hopefully later today. Keep an eye on the Summer Learning main page, which is where I'll post the link. I'll also be posting about Spelling Shed results from last week.

Monday’s School Reading Book  - Further to my email last week (as organised by Mrs Ferryman) about Oxford Owl online e-books - please try to either log in with the details we sent you, or create your own log in. It should be free at this time. If you do manage to get in successfully, explore the books and try and choose one which matches your book band. Can you write it down in your school reading record?

This week focuses on the events in chapter 2 of the story. Children read the beginning of this chapter and complete comprehension activity to ensure they are familiar enough with text and characters to write diary entries in character later in the week.

See comprehension questions attached below. All children to have the same comprehension sheet – differentiated for all children through questions getting harder. Work through questions for at least 30 minutes.  

 

You could, if you're free and interested, do some P.E.  (maybe some Joe Wicks) and some music, as it's Monday! Make sure you do some exercise though. I'm looking forward to going out later to do some exercise. I always feel so much better and it helps me focus.
