1. Monday 6th July 2020

Good morning Year 5- we are going to start this morning by looking back.

Thank you for all your baby photos I have put them all in a movie for you to watch. UPDATE- I'm sorry I have left my memory stick at home with the movie on it- so I shall put it on tomorrow morning.

It was so lovely to have lunch with our final group of Year 5's on Friday. I am really pleased that you have now all had a little bit of time in school with me and some of your friends.

Start your English work with a session on SPaG.com. Your scores are great, you are getting better each week. Keep it up.

We are going to read the last chapter of The Firework Maker's Daughter this week. Read along with me here- click here.

Today I would like you to revisit the blurb on the back of the book- a blurb gives you some ideas about what the book is about without giving away the ending. For your task today I would like you to redesign the front cover and write a new blurb to be put on the back. You could do the task in your book or there is a sheet attached at the bottom of the page.

Start your maths work today by completing the next arithmetic test.

Our main maths work this week is going to help you to learn about shapes.

Click here to get you started.  Your task sheets are attached at the bottom of the page. I have also added an extra task about irregular and regular polygons.

This afternoon have a look at some of the Home Learning activities that the teacher have planned for you. We are going to look at The Wave by Hokusai.

Have a good day and work hard.

Love Mrs O'Neil
