Our Prayer Council
Our children have the opportunity to apply for the special role as a member of our Prayer Council. Our Prayer Council play a hugely important role in the Catholic life and collective worship at Holy Family School. They are presented with a certificate and special badge at the beginning of the school year.
The Prayer Council meet with Mrs O'Neil regularly to share ideas for spreading God’s Word and celebrating His love for us. They support in the delivery of weekly whole school assemblies as well as preparing and organising class worship and prayer services. Throughout the year, they help to organise and deliver further worship and celebration events. They are involved in planning and preparing whole school masses. They also help to organise and facilitate local and global charity fund-raising projects and events.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Organising and leading class liturgies and prayer services.
- Helping to plan, prepare and lead school Mass
- Maintaining class prayer corners & displays.
- Supporting with school assemblies and special events
- Creating displays/choosing appropriate religious artefacts for the main school altar and prayer gardens.
- Supporting charities and raising funds in our parish and local community
- Encouraging, enthusing and supporting their peers in their journey of faith
- Organise weekly prayer sessions in the Prayer Garden.
- Maintain the "Better Together" prayer space in the library.
