What is the school council?
Our school council is a group of pupils who represent the views of all children across the school, and give them the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of our school community.
We help to make changes and improvements, to make the school a nicer place for everyone.
Our School Council has representatives from each year group. We listen and make decisions to improve our school. We can ask questions of our school leaders and help to fill in the gaps that they don’t see.
We act as role models and help the children in our school to keep our school values and develop into good citizens.
We organise fundraising events for charities and find ways to support our local community and protect the environment.
What makes a good school councillor?
A School Councillor needs to be able to:
- speak out
- take their role seriously
- put across good ideas
- care for others
- be a good role model who can be trusted
- be reliable
- keep to the subject
- show enthusiasm

Wellbeing Ambassadors
Our Wellbeing Ambassadors are trained learners who support mental health and wellbeing in our school by promoting positive strategies, reducing stigma, and offering one-to-one peer support. They act as a friendly, approachable point of contact, encouraging others to talk openly about their feelings and access help when needed.
As part of their role they will:
- Promote wellbeing strategies: Share techniques for managing stress and building resilience.
- Reduce stigma: Encourage open conversations about mental health challenges.
- Offer peer support: Provide informal, confidential one-to-one support.
- Signpost to resources: Help others find professional support when needed.
- Organise activities: Lead initiatives like campaigns, drop-in sessions, or awareness days.
- Lead "Feelings Friday": Organise and lead an activity for each class on a Friday morning.
The Eco Committee
Our Eco Committee is a group of learners who meet each term to discuss eco-friendly and environmental issues within school. This helps ensure our school is eco-friendly and prepares pupils to live with reflection of the environment. Democratically this ensures each class has a platform to voice their opinions.
